We've been talking it up in class... So here's the 411:

We have been so blessed for this invite to participate with our dancing `ohana!
This is a GREAT opportunity and honor. Jared Ake, Director of Boogie Down Productions, has extended us special privileges... Totally not kidding! You may not realize this, but it usually takes A LOT of time/financial commitment to be in a show like this. We don't need to fundrai$e money, pay a participation fee, attend "Hell Week" rehearsals, sell tickets... NOTHING!
So if you've ever dreamed of being on stage... Here's your chance!
Requirements:
1. ATTEND SJW CLASSES
No minimum amount of classes, but how much choreo you know will dictate how long you'll be on stage.
2. ATTEND TWO MANDATORY SUNDAY REHEARSALS
Sunday, July 21 and Sunday, July 28 @ Mana Fitness Studio in Käne`ohe. 4:00-5:00pm with the possibility of going longer (Mara's discretion). These will be held right after our usual Mana class.
3. PURCHASE OF STREET JAMZ WERKOUT T-SHIRT
On-line orders are open NOW with a choice of our original green tee or our new blue tee. Your choice of long/short sleeve. This will be your costume on stage (more details to be explained in class). T-shirts can also be ordered in-person (in class, deadline July 24).
4. ATTEND FRIDAY NIGHT REHEARSAL AT MAMIYA THEATER
Because SJW is excused from Hell Week rehearsals, we are requiring everyone to be at Friday night's (Aug. 2) run-through on stage (5:30pm to ?). Because of the amount of dancers participating, please be flexible on how late we'll be there.
5. PARTICIPATE IN BOTH SHOWS (3pm & 7pm)
We will not be re-staging because swerkers can't do both shows... Sorry.
And finally, SJW (Mara) reserves the right to make final calls/adjustments on all the above listed requirements at our discretion. In other words, if you have pilikia... Just talk to Mara.
And if you're wondering, every routine has a THEME: Here's BDP Dance Instructor Becca... Owning the FIERCE! We can only imagine what her number will look like!
