"Paint the Mall Pink" flash mob is just around the corner,

And boy are we stoked! The excitement of it all is not truly knowing who will be a part of this memorable event, whatever the case, it'll be a community coming together for a worthy cause. Below are some reminders and tips for all of you who plan on making it to the event, please feel free to share it with whomever is interested in participating.

So wear your pink (and hide it until the performance begins) and we hope to see you all this Saturday!:

Where? Windward Mall, Center Atrium - Upper/Lower Levels

When? Saturday - October 22, 2011

Time? 12:00 Noon (*Slight time change)

What makes a flash mob successful is the surprise element presented by a large group of people coming together to share in a “spontaneous” moment. The goal is to step out of being a “mall shopper” to becoming a dancer in a flash mob. Check out this flash mob: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EYAUazLI9k

Involvement: To participate in this flash mob dance, you need to learn the choreography. A dance tutorial is available online. Only by taking the time to fully learn the steps, will you be able to enjoy the total flash mob experience.

The online dance tutorial can be found at: http://streetjamzwerkout.blogspot.com/2011/10/paint-mall-pink-flash-mob-choreography.html

Check back to this webpage during the final days leading to the flash mob. Information regarding placement of dancers and starting queue to dance will be posted at that time.

What to Wear: A pink clothing item that can be put on immediately, such as a headband, scarf, or hat; or one that can be revealed quickly, i.e. a pink shirt or top. Be creative in showing your pink but keep in mind that even this move requires practice before you show up to the mall. There is no element of surprise when hundreds of people arrive to Windward Mall, dressed obviously in pink!

We encourage you to also pass this information on to your networks via email and word of mouth. Your kokua in this matter is most appreciated!

Parking: Saturday parking at Windward Mall is pretty crowded. Give yourself plenty of time to find parking and make your way to the staging area. Be sure to be in place before the 12:00 noon starting time. The song lasts 3 minutes, 40 seconds. If you’re late, you will miss it!

* * If you have someone coming to videotape the flash mob, remind him/her to be discreet with his or her video set-up. No professional videotaping or photography, please. * *

When the event is done, continue to wear your pink proudly, supporting the race to find a cure for breast cancer. Mahalo!
